DIY Face Mask Recipes You Can Make TODAY!

Y'all all know that I LOVE a good Clay Mask but...sometimes you just don't have one or you just don't feel like ordering one or maybe you're not like me with a stash of various clays around your home. That being said, I wanted to put together some easy DIY Face Mask recipes that YOU can make at home TODAY.
A DIY Face Mask is a great way to give your skin some extra TLC right at home. They're easy to make and can be customized to target your specific skincare needs. Lets dig right in to these DIY Face Masks using items commonly found at home and help reduce some of our produce waste (I'm looking at you, overly ripened avocados)!

Honey Oat DIY Face Mask

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup of cooked, cooled oatmeal
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
Instructions:
In a small bowl, mix together the oatmeal, honey, and lemon juice until well combined. Wet your face slightly with water. Apply the mask to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes, or until it's dry. Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water and pat your face dry. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer.

  • 1 tablespoon of almond, oat, or coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon of rolled oats
Instructions:
In a small bowl, mix together the mashed avocado, almond (or other) milk, and rolled oats until well combined. Wet your face slightly with water. Apply the mask to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes, or until it's dry. Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water and pat your face dry. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 a banana
  • 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
Instructions:
In a small bowl, mash the banana until it's smooth. Add the yogurt and honey to the bowl and mix everything together until well combined. Wet your face slightly with water. Apply the mask to your face, avoiding the eye area.Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes, or until it's dry. Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water and pat your face dry. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer.
This DIY Face Mask is great for hydrating and nourishing the skin. The banana is rich in vitamins and minerals, the yogurt contains lactic acid which can help to exfoliate the skin, and the honey is a natural humectant that helps to keep the skin hydrated.
